My professional beliefs are based in theory that believes all people want to feel significant, connected and capable and therefore all behavior has a purpose. Patterns and themes develop in people’s lives often discouraging them and at times can inhibit growth and or decrease abilities to function effectively. Many times our patterns and themes can be traced back several generations. I spend the first several sessions getting to know you, your family history and exploring current significant relationships. From these sessions, we will jointly agree to the goals of treatment. I have had extensive training in the areas of couple, family and adolescent therapy all with a range of presenting issues. Common treatment issues include but are not limited to areas sexual incompatibilities, poor communication, and insufficient trust, infidelity, working with teens on developmental issues and parental challenges. I completed an intensive three year post graduate Residency in Marriage and Family Therapy with excellent supervision from well-regarded family therapists.
