Hello, my name is Sherry Lord, a Licensed Independent Social Worker in West Virginia. I have been working in Behavioral health for more than 10 years in various capacities and have held clinical roles consistently since 2020. I see my role as a therapist as an Agent for Change, it is my role to help you change and grow into the vision you see for yourself, through the use of client centered, strength based and evidenced based practices in our session. Seeing people change and grow in their lives is the driver for me to continue to do what I do. Offering a compassionate and safe environment where a person can be heard, validated, and supported is the basis for everything I do in therapy. What attracted me to this career is a passion for helping people. Goal setting starts with exploring what the client wants the outcome of therapy to be, where do they see themselves at the end of our time together, and what do they want to see change as a result of therapy. Then I begin to assist them in setting a direction for their life and for the future sessions that become short term goals with achievable objectives.
