Ideally i work best with clients w nuerotic tendencies and intelligent enough to develop insight, motivated to get better and become more actualized. I do well with clients who are suffering from addiction, depression, anxiety, panic disorder and recovery. Other issues I am experienced in are work related problems, mediation, writers block, performance issues and performance anxiety as well as phase of life issues and transitions. I also enjoy working with clients who come from alcoholic families or had a history of trauma. My training lends itself well to helping clients by using EMDR, CBT, ACT & Psychodynamic therapy. My name is Shelley Cohen & I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been a psychotherapist for the past 33 years. I received my Bachelors degree at UCLA in Social Work and English & my Masters degree at USC. I specialize in depression, anxiety & addiction. I offer psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, EMDR & compassionate counseling. Also Corporate I have been working with clients in private practice since 1990 and have seen all kinds of clients. I like to create a warm and safe environment for people to come to and experience an intimate relationship with someone who cares as much about resolving your issues as you.
