Shakira Givens is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She obtained her Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Juvenile Justice from North Carolina Central University in 2011. In 2016, Shakira obtained her Masters of Social Work from Springfield College. She completed the Black Addiction Education program in 2019 through Adcare Educational Institute, Inc. Shakira has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families of diverse backgrounds with a wide range of issues including but not limited to: anger management, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), suicidal ideation, depressive and anxiety disorders, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders and crisis intervention/management. It is her goal to inspire, support, encourage and empower others in living beyond their brokenness- to get out of their own way, to heal (getting over and healing are not the same thing), and shift from the mentalities and behaviors they’ve developed to survive and protect themselves so that they may live happy, healthy and whole lives.
