For someone who is struggling to understand what is happening internally (thoughts, feelings, sensations, and impulses) while also working to accept a current situation, it can be exhausting both mentally and emotionally. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills can empower an individual to learn strategies to become mindful, accept and tolerate difficult circumstances, and learn to analyze problems or destructive behavior patterns while replacing them with more healthy ones. Our DBT-informed program for both teens and adults teaches the skills from the four main modules of DBT: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. In addition to skills groups, we offer phone coaching and parent groups, in order to support families, and promote effective use of skills in everyday life. There are five modules, in total, run on a 27-week rotating basis. Individual and family therapy are also offered, in order to maximize the benefits of DBT programing. Please feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule an intake session.
