About

We all want a life of peace and ease; however, life includes challenges and struggles with painful experiences. Fortunately, contemporary, science-based mental health interventions help people reduce suffering and live life with freedom and flexibility (and maybe some fun). I can help you identify personal values, develop unique strengths, build coping skills, and experiment with behavior changes. Our work together will help connect you with who and what you most care about and help you build a meaningful and active life.

My therapeutic approach is compassionate, efficient, and grounded in current science. I have 12 years of training and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and advanced training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. I also offer focused, short-term therapy, typically 8-12 sessions; contact me if you're interested.

Contacting a therapist is a bold move; and yet, perhaps surprisingly, it doesn't require feeling bold...it does require some willingness to be uncomfortable for a bit and requires a little action towards what you deeply care about. I look forward to talking with you about how we can take more bold steps together. Learn more at my website: sarahcheney.com
