If you or your family members are experiencing depression, anxiety or relationship issues, whether from a painful or traumatic history or more recent difficulties, I would like to help. Through talking we begin to understand, become less alone with our pain, and build a bridge to recovery. I welcome working with adults from diverse backgrounds, from various cultures and at different points in their healing process. My method is to blend the more traditional psychodynamic approach with concrete strategies. The tools I use are mostly derived from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Model (IFS), and EMDR. I believe specific techniques can help people gain a better understanding of their thoughts/feelings/behaviors, develop more mind/body awareness, and learn how to effectively regulate emotions. I also like to help people improve their relationship with themselves and others through increased self-compassion and communication skills. I approach this work with genuine curiosity, not assumptions. I want to help people find success in their efforts to be their best self. As Virginia Satir once said, "We can learn something new anytime we believe we can."
