Sandra helps people who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, substance use disorders and other difficult challenges to find not only relief, but a positive way forward. She is trained in an eclectic range of counseling methods, and draws from a number of these as chosen in partnership with individual clients. Sandra is strengths-based, trauma-aware, and believes deeply in the human potential to use lived experience as a springboard for creating a positive future. She strives to create a safe place to explore cultural and racial trauma, and is an LGBTQ ally. She is trained in an eclectic range of counseling methods, and draws from a number of these as chosen in partnership with individual clients. Some methods are: Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavior Modification, Seeking Safety, Mindfulness/Meditation practice, Dialectical Behavior Therapy strategies, BreathWork, Somatic strategies. When not working, Sandra loves to read up on the latest medical research, and bores her husband and two fur-babies with summaries of the latest findings. Taking walks in nature and thrift store shopping keep her grounded.
