I'm glad that you’re taking the first steps toward healing and reaching out for help. Life inevitably presents us with challenges and tribulations, and it's easy to convince ourselves that we need to go through them alone. I approach counseling by creating a non-judgmental, laid-back atmosphere where you feel safe to be yourself and to share and process your experiences. In life we often find ourselves reconciling the expectations placed upon us by society, our families, and ourselves. I think balancing these expectations in ways that don’t neglect our authentic needs is critical in order to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. I work from an existential, humanistic viewpoint that emphasizes your unique qualities and prioritizes the journey toward increased self-awareness in order to precipitate change. I have experience working across ages including children, adolescents, and adults in various modalities. I specialize in survivors of trauma as well as sexual and gender minorities. Life can be hard enough at times without having to go through it alone. I believe that finding a therapist you feel comfortable with and trust is critically important, and I feel privileged to be that person for my clients. I would love to hear from you, so please feel free to reach out to me when you feel ready.
