Working with you to increase your experience of hope and of joy, and to help you dissolve your grief is my orientation in both short-term and longer-term therapy. So often hurt and knowledge get buried beneath unhelpful, and yet habitual, emotional responses and mind-sets. My goal is to help you understand and become your authentic self and to set aside those habits and practices which distress your mind and burden your heart. Our ways of speaking, our gestures, and our body language all convey information about what is happening in our minds. I work to bring that awareness into the session so that we can focus on reducing anxiety and discover and develop internal sources of strength and resilience. I love to laugh and find that humor is not only enjoyable, it also brings a bit of respite and relaxation which help us look at and integrate important and often difficult information.
