In my practice, I enjoy helping families whose children are having difficulties in the schooling process. When a child is not doing well in school, there are a multitude of factors that may be getting in the way. I begin with an appropriate evaluation of the child and provide feedback to parents about what I believe is interfering with the child's ability to succeed. From there, I can provide individual intervention with the child and consultation with the parents. Also, it is often important to provide information to the school and have them assist in our plan. I specialize in assessing children with different concerns including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Learning Disabilities, etc. I've worked with children for over 20 years doing evaluations and interventions. I have an extensive knowledge of the public school system and their rules and regulations. I perform the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) as part of the assessment for children suspected of having an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The ADOS is often required by insurance companies for reimbursement of treatment.
