About

I approach counseling in an eclectic manner employing a variety of treatment options that best meets the client "where they are" and assists them as they move to "where they want to be." Support, insight, and motivation techniques are used to encourage each person to connect with their own natural (internal) wisdom and strength. With over 25 years in private practice, I have the training, the skills, and the experience to address concerns related to relationships, parenting, work/career transitions, recovery from illnesses such as a cardiac event and breast cancer, and issues of depression and anxiety.

Theoretically, I employ an integrative approach that includes cognitive-behavioral, psycho-educational, interpersonal and systems theories. Practically, I enjoy my work and I have a deep respect for the courage it takes to explore the challenging issues in our lives. My office offers a calming, safe, and reflective atmosphere.

I also employ ecotherapeutic practices that recognize that our inner world and the outer world are deeply connected. Sometimes referred to as ecotherapy, this nature-based practice opens the door to experiences in nature and maps those experiences onto one's internal landscape, enriching the therapeutic process.
