My name is Obdulia Herrera, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist. Therapy is a place to identify what is causing difficulties and no longer serves you and choose what and how to discard and replace. I use a person-centered approach to start, this helps me understand the client's therapeutic needs. From there I use a variety of approaches depending on the client's need/fit; humanistic approaches. My focus includes high-functioning, insightful people who want to identify what keeps them stuck in certain areas of their life and how to work through it. My goal is to provide the client with a comfortable and safe place to talk openly. I use open communication to let them know I want to understand what they are struggling with. the first session includes a basic introduction of my professional self, technical information; confidentiality, fees, and appointment setting/canceling. The remainder of the time is for the client to share their reason for seeking therapy, and talk about what they are looking for in a therapist.
