I am Norma Clark, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and in Louisiana with over 13 years of experience with adults in individual and group therapy, primarily in crisis and trauma, including 3 years in online video sessions. I use creative interventions, such as art, music, animal-assisted, Tai Chi, yoga, mindfulness, writing, and life narrative. Also, I emphasize understanding and processing emotions. Most of my experience is in crisis and trauma, but I have treated depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, psychosis, substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Most of my clients have been adults, but, in addition, I have experience working with families, couples, parents, children, and chronically suicidal teens. My role as a therapist is not to judge, but to listen and provide support while my clients work to face problems head-on. I will guide them to navigate to the root cause of their personal crisis, while learning valuable coping skills that will help them stabilize their mood and behaviors. I create an environment promoting self-acceptance and awareness.
