Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
My name is Niyabinghi Thomas, you can call me Niya. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have worked with individuals, families, and couples for over 8 years, both online, in the community, and in private practice. I typically use modalities such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance therapy, skills training, grief counseling, mindfulness practices, and motivational interviewing. My therapy approach is warm and interactive. I believe in creating space for open and honest dialogue without judgment at the pace of the client. I respect that everyone is not yet ready for change and it is not my job to push change. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including trauma and abuse (childhood or current), depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, career challenges, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, anger, attachment, and ADHD. I believe in providing a respectful, open, and compassionate place of self-exploration. Working with me feels safe and expansive. I am nonjudgmental and create an environment that is validating and inviting.
