I believe that humans are basically good, and that we all act out because we are in pain. You are not broken – you are hurting. While I have lots of experience helping adolescent males navigate the transition to adulthood, I am open to working with any client if the relationship feels right. Family therapy is an essential part of my background, and I incorporate systems work into everything I do. I laugh and cry often with my clients. I utilize holistic healing methods, with the understanding that the most effective way to heal trauma is through the body - ideally in conjunction with the natural world. I am trained in post-traumatic growth, nervous system regulation, family systems, and mindfulness-based counseling. Once I find opportunities to connect with clients, the therapy flows from there. I come to therapy with an open mind, seeking to understand rather than judge. While I bring compassion to my work, I always push my clients to dig deeper. It is a huge step to seek help. As a lifetime participant in therapy myself, I respect the humility it takes to spill your guts. I prioritize human connection, and believe that relationship is the number one building block of any therapeutic alliance. Before any work occurs, I focus on building trust.
