About

I have 20 years experience as a clinician and work with all age groups providing individual, marital, family, and group counseling services. Additionally I taught full time for UNC-Wilmington and was the UNCW Extension Campus Social Work Program Coordinator. I have presented statewide for the National Association for Social Workers on topics such as "Working with Military and their Families", "Working with Children Diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorders", and "Positive Discipline Techniques." Additionally, I facilitate the only state approved Batterer Intervention Program in Onslow County for Domestic Violence Incidences.

Areas of specialization includes counseling services for depression, anxiety, PTSD, or trauma. I am credentialed in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with military families around such challenges as adjusting to relocations, deployments, or re-entry into the civilian life.

The practice that I am affiliated with, Progressions Center, offers several groups such as: an 8 week "Anger Management for the 21st Century" for individuals wanting to learn how to manage anger more effectively. We also offer a "Spouses/Significant Others of PTSD Individuals" therapy group.
