Future Clients: Beginning the journey in counseling can be scary AND so worth it! We all have something we are trying to figure out as we work toward being our best selves. I believe past and current interpersonal relationships contribute to how we move in the world and view ourselves. Future Supervisees: As a certified clinical supervisor (CPCS) and master addiction counselor (MAC), I am knowledgeable about forming a solid counselor identity by offering expertise in fostering professional and personal growth for licensed and license-eligible professional counselors and those seeking credentials as an addiction professional. Client: I assist clients in forming healthy relationships with self and others and, for overcoming addiction, a focus is on learning to cope with emotions from within. Supervisee: I assist in increasing efficacy with diverse clients by integrating theoretical perspectives, conceptualization, and using countertransference therapeutically. Client: Beginning psychotherapy can be difficult. There is a lot of stigma and misconceptions associated with therapy. Everyone has times in their lives when they need a nurturing, empathetic, and objective person to talk to. Supervisee: Working with a competent and supportive clinical supervisor forms the foundation for becoming an exceptional counselor.
