Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Therapy, like life, happens in the context of relationships. Our first task will be to form our own. During this time I’ll hear from you about what’s going well in your life as well as what is feeling difficult or overwhelming. Our work can take several forms, but in all of them I value connection, humor, and authenticity. I utilize several clinical modalities including EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, somatic work, solution-focused therapy, design thinking and mindfulness techniques. Together we’ll work to find the right approach for you. Therapy and mental health practices can have profound limitations when they do not acknowledge power differentials, when they limit ideas of family and identity, and when they overlook healing practices rooted in non-White, and non-medical models of health. I strive to bring this awareness into our sessions and welcome your expertise in this work.
