In 20 years as a psychologist, I find healing and emotional growth start with developing a compassionate understanding of your life story and current circumstances. I focus on strengths and capabilities as the foundation for your growth and empowerment. I will regard you as the expert of your life and partner with you to develop treatment goals and approaches. I will focus on your emotional needs and help you develop skills for healthy relationships and better functioning in your life. I will also directly address the negative effects of oppression and discrimination as it impacts your mental health. I strive to create a safe, caring, and supportive connection with you to explore your concerns so you can take active steps towards your goals. Shame and fear can make it difficult to open up and keep you lonely or isolated, but let's work together to replace it with compassion and empowerment. I have a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and I have trained, supervised, and mentored other mental health clinicians ranging from new trainees to very experienced counselors. I enjoy witnessing the strengths, resilience, and gifts of people and helping them succeed in making their life more fulfilling and meaningful.
