Why does it always feel like my fault? Why can't I let go of the past? What does making a difference even mean when there's so much suffering in the world? These are some of the most difficult questions that plague us; that drive the tightness in our chest, the tension our jaw, the churning in our stomach. However, our minds, bodies, and communities also have incredibly resilient ways of adapting. In therapy, I help clients understand and leverage the ways their minds and bodies react to regain control of their lives. I operate from a social justice framework that helps clients navigate the intersectionality of power, privilege, oppression and connection in our lives. I strive to deliver culturally-responsive and identity-affirming therapy that provides the quality, compassionate care we all deserve. My goals in therapy are three-fold: 1) Amplify our healing powers of compassion, curiosity, creativity and connectedness. 2) Reprocess traumatic memories and nervous system responses/triggers. 3) Unpack the complexities of human beliefs and behaviors to intentionally redefine and reclaim the story of ourselves and our experiences.
