Hi, I’m Mel, an LCSW based in Florida with over 7 years of experience in a variety of settings. As a therapist, I’m passionate about building a shame-free, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and trauma-informed space. As a genderfluid, queer-identified person, I have both personal and professional experience with the process of self-exploration. I’d love to support you as you explore your identity at any point on your journey toward your most authentic self. For those struggling with eating disorders, I will advocate for a Health at Every Size and All Foods Fit approach, encouraging you to challenge diet culture and weight bias. Before starting my private practice, I worked as a therapist in a DBT program, offering individual therapy and group skills training. During that time, I completed extensive training to strengthen my application of this treatment. If you find this approach helpful, I will incorporate a balance of DBT skills and others throughout our time together. No matter what brings you to therapy, I hope to help you build self-compassion and develop effective coping skills that foster confidence and resilience. Starting with a new therapist can be daunting, but if you’ve made it this far, I encourage you to push through any discomfort, reach out, and get the support you deserve.
