About

Throughout my career I have specialized in working with adolescents and their families to address a myriad of adjustment related issues including divorce and trauma. I currently offer individual adult and couples counseling as well. I have expertise in working with families who have had to deal with sexual trauma and the legal system including Child Welfare Services. I aim to help you identify ways in which you can improve your quality of life by becoming more aware of self-defeating patterns so that you can take better charge of your life.

Over the years I have treated people diagnosed with mood and adjustment disorders, difficulties with attachment, grief and loss. I have become quite interested in how stress impacts brain functioning, behavior and one's experience of oneself. I make use of stress reduction and mindfulness techniques among others.

I realize that reaching out to a new therapist can be anxiety provoking. We will work together to identify the areas you want to focus on and establish goals that improve the quality of your life. These times are stressful - let me join with you to provide some support in meeting the challenges you are facing.
