My name is Matt Hallowell. I am a licensed clinical social worker who approaches psychotherapy through a person-centered, multi-faceted perspective. I believe in meeting everyone where they're at and collaborating on how to move towards their goals via internal and external resources. I am trained in EMDR, Somatic-based Experiencing and Expressive Arts Psychotherapy modalities. I believe in incorporating various treatment methods in session that seems to fit the most important needs that clients chose to focus on. I try to create an environment in which we work together towards the client's goals at the speed of trust. I understand it can be intimidating for some while others are highly motivated to change. This is when I heavily depend on feedback from the person sitting in front of me instead of the person "society" tells them to be. The first session's goal is to first and foremost see if we are a good match to work together. It is a professional relationship in which both people need to sync up on a level in order for treatment to be effective. I default to having an organic and authentic conversation at the beginning to be as time efficient as possible.
