About

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I have particular expertise working with neurodiverse individuals. For over 25 years, I have helped patients with issues such as trauma, work-related stress, family conflicts, parenting issues and infertility. My style is characterized by supportive and empathic understanding. Recognizing, however, that improvements in life will occur not just by "getting things off your chest," I am prepared to guide and challenge as well. I am comfortable working with individuals of all ages, ethnicities, and sexual orientation.

My approach to successful therapy is founded on a view of the therapeutic relationship as an interactive endeavor. Both therapist and patient remain active in the process, working together to identify and change the patterns in thinking and behavior which make people feel stuck, unable to move ahead in life.

My training is psychodynamic, but my approach is pragmatic with the goal of making an immediate and permanent difference in your life. In addition to my private practice, I have a faculty appointment and supervise psychologists at Columbia University Medical Center/New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
