"The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct" (Carl Jung). I find great joy in working with children of all ages in a therapy setting. It's an honor to me when a child chooses to trust me with their wishes, their fears, and their wonders about life. I have experience working with children individually, in hospitals, and through non-profit work in the community. Through the use of play and arts based therapies, I help to facilitate an environment where children are able to truly be themselves, express their emotions, and have the ability to create the answers they need for themselves. I hold a unique set of abilities that I have come by through advanced learning and training as well as my own creative development. I use person centered and strength based strategies along with cognitive behavioral therapy at times, to find creative ways to help children and their families solve their problems. In addition to being a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), I am also a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). It is with great hope and excitement that I would be able to hear your child and families concerns and be able to offer you the warmth and the means to find what you're looking for.
