About

Asking for help is not easy, and finding the right therapist is too often a difficult process.. I am passionate about helping individuals, and partners shift toward lives of stability and vibrancy.. In a safe and attuned environment, I work with clients who struggle with a range of issues: anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship difficulties, separation and loss, low self-esteem, lack of motivation, family conflict and parenting. My work is trauma informed and strengths-based; I specialize in helping individuals and partners know and be with difficult emotions, behaviors and relationships in new ways. I offer supervision as well.

My training and experience is wide ranging. I have worked in the group private practice, the justice system, state hospitals, in patient psychiatry, school social work and community mental health. I teach and advise at the Smith College School for Social work where I am able to guide students in the learning the craft of clinical social work.

Suffering is part of the human condition and how we relate to our circumstances greatly influences our ability to build resilience and live full lives. I am trained in many evidenced based models and I incorporate mindfulness and body based techniques in my process. I am confident that there is the path of freedom from patterns of suffering and illness.
