Are you making one or more of these statements or asking one or more of these questions? Something needs to change. Something just doesn’t feel right. I hate this. I can’t do this anymore. Now what do I do? What was I thinking? Who am I? Why can’t I just…?! Perhaps it’s another, equally frustrating statement or confusing question? Perhaps you are saying ‘we’ rather than ‘I’? Whatever the context, I want to acknowledge that you are in a hard place and that hard places are part of the human condition. Seeking help is a courageous act! Confusion, fear, anger, sadness, grief – however you are feeling – make sense and I can help. My therapeutic process: meet and affirm you in the midst of your dilemma; help you see your strengths – what is working as well as what isn’t; explore how the ways you learned to be yourself, to be with others and to be in the world may need some adjustments; give you language to name those adjustments; reflect back to you the truth you have been telling. I will provide a safe space for you. By character and through training as a therapist, I will listen – really listen – without invading you with judgements and quick-fixes or abandoning you with superficial attempts to bypass your pain. I would love the opportunity to help you take some steps towards healing and/or growth and/or change that you desire.
