Hi, my name is Marshall Kirkpatrick and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in the field of social services/mental health for 36 years. I believe my breadth of experience gives me a unique perspective on mental health, trauma, and the effects of trauma. I truly enjoy the opportunity to work with people and help them understand their life experiences, how the effects of those life experiences have impacted them over the course of their life, how they are there today, and learn ways to regain control over their lives. This is what makes work fun. I tend to be warm and laid back during therapy sessions with a liberal use of humor. However, I can be direct in addressing specific issues and offering specific feedback. I have found that this can be helpful in avoiding misunderstandings and in clarifying important issues. I take a client-focused approach to working with people and will offer the information and support necessary for clients to determine what they would like to achieve in their course of therapy.
