My name is Mark Perez, LCSW 91261. My approach to therapy is straightforward in a compassionate, and empathic way. I also enjoy using laughter when topics become heavy. My therapeutic approach is working with strengths-based and problem-solving techniques, but it really depends on the situation the client is working with. My focus is broad I enjoy working with teenagers to the elderly. I enjoy listening to the stories and looking at the faces of the people I'm working with. It tells me a lot about who they are and how their issue has affected them. My journey to become a therapist is pretty interesting. I was enrolled in a class (psychology), and I heard of a person by the name of Sigmund Freud. In the lecture, the professor spoke about Freud's id, ego, and superego. I found his concepts very interesting. So, I kept enrolling in psychology classes until I had to decide to pursue social work or finish my original goal of becoming a History Teacher. My communication style is being blunt when needed and compassionate when needed.
