Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
My goal is to support my clients while they identify the changes they want to make and collaborate with them to reach these goals. I believe that developing good rapport with my clients is the key to making progress when discussing potentially painful and difficult topics, so I take the time to get to know each individual while being open, honest, and warm. Using such modalities as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy, I team up with my client to create positive change. I work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and many other issues. I have training in perinatal mental health to support clients in all stages of parenthood. Sometimes it is helpful for someone to have a nonjudgmental sounding board to help work through inner conflicts, and I strive to fulfill that role. I studied psychology, Latin American Studies, and political science at Vanderbilt University, providing a wide range of knowledge that continues to help me understand the bio-psycho-social interactions that influence people. My formal MSW training combined with experience in both inpatient/outpatient settings has prepared me to help with a variety of issues.
