Life experiences can cause pain and hurt so deeply that one’s soul is broken into many parts and can only mend when those parts come together again. The brokenness causes individuals to have problems interacting with others, themselves, and God. Counseling provides the skills and knowledge needed to help individuals learn to embody themselves and heal their injured parts. I am a counselor-in-training pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education Supervision (CES) through Liberty University. In addition, I volunteer with the VA Caregiver Peer Support Mentoring Program. As a mentor, I offer patience, attentiveness, and nonjudgmental positive regard to veteran caregivers. I let them know they are not alone. I sit with an empathic presence as I hold the space to listen and hear your issues as we collaborate to resolve these issues and incorporate the healing process.
