About

I see counseling as a relationship in which you and I, having come to understand and trust one another, work together to explore your current situation and identify the conflicts that you are presently experiencing. It is through this mutual understanding and trust that we can collaboratively develop meaningful goals to improve your life and work together toward the realization of those goals. As we work together, I believe that you can make the changes necessary to improve the way you experience your life.

My orientation to counseling is integrative, grounded in the importance of making meaning of our circumstances. I do, however, remain flexible in the use of techniques that are often associated with Integral Counseling, Logotherapy, Reality Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral approaches so that counseling is tailored to your specific needs.

As a professor and a supervisor of counselor interns at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, I have the unique opportunity to stay well informed of the latest technologies in the practice of counseling to assist you to make the changes that you desire in your life.
