About

With an empathetic approach, I believe therapy is beneficial to someone needing support who is feeling overwhelmed with emotions and / or dealing with various life situations. I assist individuals to address things such as relationships, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, and behaviors. At times individuals may be too overwhelmed to examine specific issues. With a therapeutic approach, we will explore those barriers and problem solve ways to manage those symptoms while learning skills to be successful. My goal is to utilize techniques based on the client's needs and goals to help ensure a positive experience.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt therapy, Solution Focused and mindfulness strategies. I am also trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and utilize the PRIDE skills during family sessions focused on teaching appropriate commands and positive praise in reaction to the child's behaviors.

We also offer Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) (an in home worker) whom works with children 5-18 on skill building (i.e., anger management, communication, relationships, coping, listening, boundaries, etc.). BHIS is a great addition to the therapy process for quicker improvements and family interaction! BHIS is an IA Medicaid service.
