About

Hello, my name is Lynet Uttal, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. When working together, my hope is that you will become more comfortable with yourself. I focus on what is making you uncomfortable and using person-centered talk therapy and reality therapy, we work on identifying understandings and changes to improve your comfort with yourself. I work with adults, especially those addressing bicultural issues and dealing with transitions in their lives. In the first session, you get a chance to see if I feel all right to you and to ask me personal questions to see if I'm the right person for you to share yourself with.

My style of doing therapy is to carefully listen to you and to ask questions so that both you and I can develop a deep understanding of what is bothering you and how you want to improve/change your life. Goal setting emerges as you understand better what is making you uncomfortable with your current situation or self.

Being a therapist is a second career for me. I didn't start working as a therapist until I was 55 years old and ready to leave my first job. I love helping people get more comfortable with themselves, whatever that might be.
