Childhood trauma, racism and microaggressions traumatize us and leave you feeling shame, embarrassment, anger and that you're not enough. You feel alone and in pain, and you deserve emotional peace by speaking to a professional who listens, provides safety, validating AND gently challenging your fears and negative thoughts of yourself. It is important that these false narratives do not define your self worth and perceptions of yourself, preventing YOU from identifying your own needs. I seek to work with children of immigrants, experiencing relationships issues NOW, due to childhood or recent trauma. Together, we process & heal. One of my specialties and interests is working with children of immigrants’ trauma. This may look like addressing perfectionism, codependency, “not good enough-ness,” family issues resulting from "tiger parenting." These are rooted in complex trauma (C-PTSD) and looks like consistent emotional abuse throughout life and shows up in current relationships. I help clients understand their current identity and behavior, using EMDR, IFS and DBT to incorporate somatic therapy and psychoeducation. Even just naming out loud your experiences are powerful to understand and integrate what has happened TO you. NEW: offering couples therapy for those with complex PTSD histories affecting & straining the relationship.
