Hi! I am the owner of Kos Counseling, and have been working in the mental health field for 19 years with an emphasis on serving LGBTQ and BIPOC folks. I see clients of all ages, but focus on working with young adults and teens. I help people to learn to cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other symptoms while also getting more connected to themselves. I also help people navigate difficult relationships (family, friends, partners) in more productive ways. Sessions with me are filled with compassion, openness, realistic optimism, and a mix of sitting with the hardest emotions while also creating space to laugh. View 4 Photos I work collaboratively with my clients from a strengths-based mindset. I help them learn tools to cope with stress, communicate, set boundaries, and manage depression and anxiety. I also work with religious trauma. Specifically, I often use DBT, CBT, Narrative, IFS, dry humor, and sensorimotor techniques. Starting in March '23, I will also offer EMDR. I would love to talk to you to see if we would be a good fit. Finding someone you can connect with where you can be yourself is the most important first step in the healing process. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. The hardest step for most people is just getting started. I understand that apprehension and welcome all inquiries!
