My experience is in treating depressive and anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. I also particularly enjoy working with young adults and adults experiencing more complex and severe forms of mental illness (including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other forms of psychosis ). Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a collaborative process in which we’ll work together to identify what you hope to address and create a strategy to achieve your goals. Often it can be helpful to better understand the complex pattern of interactions between your thoughts, emotions and behaviors. We'll build upon work completed in each session, using your experiences and insights as a guide forward. I will encourage you to practice skills learned between sessions, and together we’ll evaluate which you find most useful. My intention is to provide assistance and support as we learn from your progress, making adjustments as needed. I will often ask for your feedback. I respect the efforts you are making in seeking therapy, and will work diligently to provide treatment that is efficient and compassionate. My approach is recovery-oriented and active. I will encourage you to make steps towards your goals and will strive to maintain a consistent presence during this process.
