I look forward to helping you reach your goals. Utilizing counseling to take an active role in managing your mental health is a step towards your improved health. We can make changes in our health with effort, support and making the time for your self in this ever demanding world we live. Investing in yourself is your biggest investment. Sometimes therapy may be a place to sit with feelings and emotions, to gain strategies for anxiety, depression, stress, other behaviors, family/work challenges and conflicts, or you may need time and space to reflect, make decisions, receive professional feedback, guidance, skills and validation. My hope is to help you more fully understand your patterns or symptoms. Together we identify what barriers keep you stuck from progress and change. With 20+ years as a clinical social worker I have worked in various health settings and with people of all ages and cultures. I'm passionate as a humanitarian to help the underserved, advocating against stigma. The therapy approach is multifaceted and holistic but is often based in a relational therapy framework. It develops after establishing a professional relationship built on unconditional positive regard and understanding. Some clients even enter treatment without having a clear sense of what they need, and that becomes the starting point for exploration.
