Therapists » Clinical Social Work/Therapist
We come to therapy to change our lives which can only be done by changing ourselves. I believe the most effective changes occur when we can experience and examine our behavior in relation to others. In individual therapy you and I will not only identify and try to understnad how your life experiences have shaped your behavior, but how you and I experience that behavior in our relationship. When I work with couples, I focus on your dynamics of intimacy, power imbalances, money, sexuality, and the impact of family and friends on your couple. In group work I similarly focus on all the dynamics that get stirred up when we operate in groups, like competition and seeing and being seen for who we really are. I am now in the process of starting a psychotherapy group for women. I specialize in, but am not limited to, mid-life issues for men and women including sexuality, empty nest, health, and lifestyle. I love working with individuals and couples facing the last third of their lives and newly committed couples to change difficult patterns before they become set in concrete.
