Anxiety, sadness, and stress can be immobilizing, and current world events seem overwhelming for many of us, leading to feelings of helplessness and despair. These emotions are normal reactions to abnormal times, but just knowing that isn't always enough. Most of us could use some extra support right now. Whether you need a nonjudgmental listener who can help you make sense of your feelings; someone to assist you in adding to your repertoire of effective coping mechanisms; or a coach who can illuminate, and gently push you to change, thought and behavior patterns that may be contributing to keeping you "stuck," therapy can help. Prior to becoming a therapist, I studied theater and art history at Princeton University. I have over 20 years' experience as an actor and writer and taught at the university level for over 10. I obtained my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and was extensively trained in CBT by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Seeking treatment takes courage and acceptance. I want to honor such qualities by guiding clients (and being guided by them) to examine thought and behavior patterns that may be contributing to distress and preventing them from reaching their goals. Everything is temporary, but lasting change is possible. Call or email me for a free phone consultation.
