About

I focus on adults of all ages who are experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss as well as those trying to understand relationships and the events that have shaped them. I hope to provide a safe environment in which to develop and explore insights that will encourage and enable growth and well-being. I will endeavor to help identify motivations, desires and personal ethics and the facility to express them. My frame of reference is largely psychodynamic (meaning that the unconscious mind affects conscious feelings, thoughts and behavior) but may draw from other orientations when suitable.

I have spent the last four years working with chronically mentally ill adults, all who had experienced grief and loss largely due to trauma. However, each individual's story is unique and I welcome those from all circumstances. Therapy is not exclusively for those in crisis.

My background is in art. Though art and therapy may seem to have little in common they both rely on the ability to pay careful attention. I also inform my therapeutic orientation with the teachings I have encountered in over five years of practicing yoga.
