About

My first ten years as a psychotherapist were spent in New Orleans, where I worked, in part, to provide support and healing to members of a community ravaged by the traumas of Hurricane Katrina and the BP Oil Spill. This experience equipped me to serve people within the context of dramatic and disruptive life changes. I collaborate with my clients to manage their symptoms, transform the effects of trauma and grief, address creatively relationship issues, career changes and artistic blocks, and engender personal growth.

As a Jungian Psychoanalyst, my theoretical approach is informed by Depth Psychology and Existentialist Philosophy. I view every individual as a unique composite of his or her culture, background experience and potential and consider psychological roadblocks to living a full life to be both personal and a symptom of the world in which we live.

My work with individuals involves reflection on their relationship to the physical, cultural, and psychological environments they inhabit, a conscious realization of their strengths and desires and the creative re-imagination of their lives. I work with dreams, writing, visual art and sand tray in the context of traditional talk therapy.
