Forming a family can be difficult business and new parents need a lot of support, validation, and education. You may be feeling hopeless, sad, angry, and anxious in a time in which you are "supposed" to be anything but. You may be feeling disconnected from your partner or like a stranger in your own skin. Postpartum mood disorders can look different among people - you might not be sure if you have one, but you know that this is not you. You are not alone! I am an allied licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in perinatal mental health in individuals. I will work with you on processing and practicing. My approach is genuine, supportive, and directive. You will be empowered to make changes and address challenges in your life. I use humor and empathy to build connections and foster change. I offer virtual visits as well as in office visits for your convenience. When I am not doing therapy I am spending time with family and friends. I love sweatpants, reading, video games, the beach, and my pets (4 parrots and a dog). Running, sunshine, yoga, and coffee are vital for my self-care.
