Hello! My name is Lakinta (Luh-ken-tuh) Garner. My purpose as your Therapist and Mental Health Advocate is to help you create positive and long-lasting changes. Together, we will work to ensure that you reconnect and become active participants in your lives and communities through your relationships, daily functioning, and your view of self. I aim to provide resources, tools, and healthy coping skills that you can use to succeed in your healing journey. I will provide a judge-free, safe, and welcoming space that encourages honesty and openness from each other. My experience includes preteens, teens, adults, and college students for the following specialties: depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress management, behavioral issues, life/school adjustments, romantic/social relationships, etc, and evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT informed, Mindfulness, Solution-focused, and Motivational Interviewing. In our sessions, I am a helping partner in your process. I will actively listen to and work with you at your own pace rather than working for you. I believe it is important for us to build rapport and establish a strong, trustworthy therapeutic relationship. I commend you for putting your mental health first and would love to discuss this journey with you.
