Hi, my name is Lacey C. Sonnier. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor living in Lafayette LA. I serve individuals within the state via telehealth and in person. My approach to therapy is person centered to give space to the client to come as they are. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to help clients shift their thinking to begin to see new possibilities and to feel better. I find these modalities especially helpful, because clients can begin to use these techniques on their own. My communication style is calm and kind but I can also be firm. I was a hair stylist before becoming a mental health counselor, which helped me to develop my rapport building skills. Most people appear to feel comfortable with me fairly quickly. My approach to goal setting is a team effort. Together, we will reflect on your presenting issue and narrow our focus on what you would like to achieve while working together. I will check in with you at times to assess your progress and to make sure we are still on the same page or to see if our goal needs to be adjusted.
