What should you expect from your counselor? Facilitator of change? Shoulder to cry on? Empathetic active listening? Custodian of mental health wisdom? Regardless of the names they carry, a counselor that you can trust, confide in, and relate to is a paramount necessity to an exceptional therapeutic relationship. By understanding our current experiences, and how they interact with our past, we can find ways to make change in our lives so that we may obtain our goal of living more empowered lives. Counseling is a dynamic process that identifies the parts of your psyche that cause you stress and helps you to become a more empowered individual. By going through your life experiences, you are able to identify aspects of your life that you wish to bring back into balance. I have worked in counseling since 2008. I have developed and utilize techniques to assist with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and communication skills. By using an integrated approach, I help explore all the parts that make up your mental health-physical, spiritual, emotional, and cognitive.
