My name is Katie Hicks and I look forward to building a therapeutic relationship with you. I have received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and taught dance for many years in the school system. I am a 2017 graduate with a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I have over 7 years experience in the clinical outpatient and inpatient aspects of counseling which have provided me with experience in many disorders, diagnoses, and interventions for adult, adolescents, pre-teens, and children. I utilize a variety of theories and interventions including but not exclusive to Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Solution Focused Theory, Reality Based Theory, TF-CBT as well as EMDR. I also have a strong belief in art, music, and movement as ways to ease some of the turmoil we may find in our lives. I have the belief that we all can change and grow for the better with a healthy support system and confidence in ourselves. I look forward to becoming a support to you, significant other, and family.
