The best advice I ever received about practicing psychotherapy was, “be a human first and a therapist second." To this day, I hold this sentiment in mind while sitting with my clients. While my approach is informed by robust training, I ultimately hold the view that you are the expert on your own life. I utilize our relationship to help you develop a stronger, more truthful relationship with yourself. From a place of deep awareness, you will feel more empowered to make choices that are right for you, more congruence, connection, and authenticity in your life, more freedom from what burdens you, and more control over your own story. Although I work with a wide range of issues, I have particular interest & training in the treatment of eating disorders, complex trauma, adult children of emotionally immature parents, women's issues, and relationships. I have years of experience working with adolescent & adult clients to heal their relationship with food, body image, and exercise addiction. I am trained in EMDR and Internal Family Systems, which I use frequently in with clients. If fee is an issue, I also supervise highly skilled associates in my group practice, East Side Therapy, which you can learn more about by visiting www.eastsidetherapyla.com
