I am a Licensed Counselor with additional credentialing in Health Sciences & Exercise Instruction. I took this integrative route because the physical health/mental health connection has always been important to me. In my practice, I provide talk therapy, in addition to helping clients understand how their physical health plays into mental health, and vice versa. Clients I see are often experiencing anxiety, depression, stress & burn out, as well as chronic health challenges. With regards to therapy, I rely upon an overall Person-Centered orientation; a relational approach assuming clients know themselves best. Additional interventions I use often are more directive and skills based, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (inc. Mindfulness practice) and Motivational Enhancement Therapy. Building upon this therapeutic stance, I focus on the Brain/Body connection. Much consideration goes into educating clients about the human stress response, and ways this affects our brains and bodies. I strongly promote health behavior change, often asking client's to do "homework" in this domain (ie. sleep, movement, nutrition, stress management, etc.).
